Like many prominent academic medical centers, Johns Hopkins is located in the heart of the inner city. Over the years, we have seen significant decline in crime on our historic East Baltimore campus – home of The Johns Hopkins Hospital…and for good reason.

Hopkins has made a significant investment in campus security. Our campus security force is led by some of the nation’s most sought-after experts in campus safety. We boast more than 500 full-time officers, nearly 150 computer-linked cameras, and numerous security posts and checkpoints both inside our facilities and outside on our streets. Our campus security force protects faculty, staff and patients.

Our security team also provides staff with a monthly Security Update online newsletter featuring helpful tips and information on security services. Learn more about Hopkins’ security at http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/security/.
