Around the country, there have been outbreaks of a type of inflammation that can occur after cataract surgery. Known as TASS (toxic anterior segmentsyndrome), the problem has multiple causes. To help prevent outbreaks, Johns Hopkins nurses led a study with Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control that resulted in major changes to the instrument cleaning policies and procedures at Johns Hopkins. Now, institutions across the country are asking about our study’s groundbreaking conclusions. |
