  • Average length of stay: 2 to3 days
Number of Beds
  • 8 labor and delivery rooms
  • 4 triage rooms
  • 4 operating rooms/3-bed recovery room
  • 20 ante/post partum beds
  • 36 newborn nursery beds
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • Labor and Delivery: 1:1-2
  • Postpartum and Antepartum: 1:3-4 mother/baby couplets; 1:5-6 antepartum patients
Rotation/Shifts
  • Permanent days or nights
Skill Mix
  • Labor and Delivery: 77 percent RN; 23 percent clinical technicians
  • Postpartum, Antepartum, Newborn Nursery: 70 percent RN; 30 percent clinical associates
Orientation
  • 12-week cross-training program in all aspects of obstetrical nursing
  • New Grads: SPRING program
