  • High-volume, minimally invasive cardiology and electrophysiology procedure area featuring specialized fluoroscopic imaging techniques
  • Manage conscious sedation/analgesia and respond to emergency situations
Patient Population
  • Pediatric, adult, critical care
  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures
  • Average length of stay: 1-6 hours
Number of Beds
  • 5 CVIL procedure rooms; 3 electrophysiology rooms
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • Day/Evening: 1:1
  • Night: 1:1 (only on call)
Rotation/Shifts
  • Flexible day; minimal evening, weekend and holiday call coverage
Skill Mix
  • 40 percent RN; 60 percent Radiology Technologists
  • RN composite: 40 percent ADN/diploma; 50 percent BSN; 10 percent MSN
  • Required experience: two years of critical care within last five years
Orientation
  • 6 to 8 weeks including critical care core classes
