| - Intensive, 12-hour-per-day substance abuse treatment aimed at improving the clinical and psychiatric course for patients with medical and psychiatric disorders associated with substance abuse behaviors.
- Targeted patients often remain on medical and surgical services for extended periods without any interventions for the substance abuse problems that led to their conditions, and substance abuse patients from both medical and psychiatric inpatient services have high rates of readmission unless they get appropriate treatment.
- Our patients stay in domiciliary facilities within the community that provide close supervision during their time away from the program.
- Since there is close management of the transport to and from these facilities, patients are provided housing and safety during what is hoped to be their first step toward recovery.
- The dormitories eventually serve as a transitional setting as patients move to the next level of care within the community.
