Holistic, team-based care and education for patients with neurological disease.


Patient Population

  • Inpatient and outpatient
  • Pediatric, adult, international
  • Procedures include: angiography (pre/post care); contrast administration; sedations in CT for Tarlov cyst obliterations, radio frequency ablations, cryoablations, biopsies and drainages.
Number of Beds
  • 8
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • 1:2-3 (1:1 for sedation protocol patients)
Rotation/Shifts
  • Monday-Friday; day/evening rotation; call shifts weeknights, weekends, holidays (several times a year)
Skill Mix
  • 100 percent RN; 75 percent BSN
  • Required competencies: BLS, ACLS, PALS certification (acute care background recommended)
Orientation
  • 80 hours, more as needed
  • One week in the prep/recovery area
  • One week in CT
