Our specialty may be the newest at Hopkins, but from the moment we opened our doors in 1998 we created the opportunity to experience patient recovery and determination that rivals any unit in the hospital.

Rehabilitation nursing here combines a supportive teaching environment for ourselves and our patients, evidence-based practices, and interdisciplinary teamwork. We gather daily for multidisciplinary discussions about our patients’ progress, and include patient and family members as well.

We are CARF accredited, which means we are constantly raising the bar on our practice. Professional development is a constant—we enjoy ongoing education with the entire rehab team—and our shared practice governance means we set our own schedules and have a voice in daily operations and long-term policies.
