Postoperative care for patients who’ve undergone gastrointestinal, plastic and oncology surgeries. We practice patient- and family-centered care, allowing family members to room in and participate in the care provided. All patient rooms are private. A family lounge and resource area support our patient- and family-centric environment.


Patient Population
  • Ages 18 and up
  • Diagnoses include pancreatic or liver cancer, GI surgery for both malignant and nonmalignant diagnoses, and various plastic surgeries
  • Average length of stay: 3 to 6 days
Number of Beds
  • 18
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • 1:4-6
Rotation/Shifts
  • 8 or 12 hours
  • Most staff rotate a.m. and p.m. shifts, with about 35 percent rotation to p.m. shifts
Skill Mix
  • 75 percent RN
  • 25 percent clinical associates
